Taiwanese percussionist Yi-Hsuan Lo is active in contemporary music, orchestral performance, solos, and chamber music. As a percussionist, Lo explores diverse forms of music and performance, engaging in cross-disciplinary collaborations and new compositions. She is currently pursuing a Master of Music in Percussion Performance at the University of Toronto under the mentorship of Aiyun Huang, Beverley Johnston, and Charles Settle.

Lo is enthusiastic about exploring all musical genres and continually evolving through them. In 2025, she was selected for the National Youth Orchestra of Canada and the Nashville Marimba Sessions. In 2024, she joined Escola de Samba de Toronto(Samba Toronto), where performing with the group expanded her interpretative ideas and musical perspectives. Her performance experience includes orchestra, wind band, percussion ensemble, samba bateria, and live film concerts. In 2020, Lo won first place in the marimba solo category at the National Student Music Competition in Taiwan. She is also a core member of the Cross Song Percussion Ensemble in Taiwan, performing the immersive percussion theatre collaborations with storytellers, and has performed internationally at the Suzhou International Wind Festival in China. In addition, she actively contributes in multiple roles, including as a member of the composition team for the musical Sorrow in the Circus(2023), a wind band conductor, and principal percussionist in both orchestral and wind ensembles.

Lo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of Taipei. She has studied under Shu-Ting Huang, Chia-Wen Shen, Hui-Ling Chen, Chun-Ting Chen, and Ya-Chi Cheng, and has received mentorship from internationally renowned artists including Sebastien Efler, Theodor Milkov, Adélaïde Ferrière, Caleb Pickering, Ayano Kataoka, and Ming-Yu Wong.
